Fifteen years ago the company I am a sales rep for, Advantek Solutions,  decided to get on the web. They hired someone to throw together a website and that is about what it was, just thrown together. It was nice to be on the internet but we got what we paid for.

My company decided to spend more money for a better site. Being the computer geek I am, I volunteered to try it first. I used FrontPage and did my first site which was 10 times better than the one we had. At this point I was hooked. Though the site was better, I wasn’t satisfied. I also learned that FrontPage wasn’t the best program to use.

After doing research on web design I bought Maromedia Dreamweaver, Flash, and Fireworks which I have upgraded a couple of times. I have now redone Advantek Solutions about 6 times, each one getting better. That is when I decided to expand my horizons and do other sites (on my own time of course).

So far I have done a dozen sites. I have also met another designer on Facebook, Debbie Douglas, who just happened to live a quartermile  from me.  We then met an excellent graphic artist, Jennifer Rogers, and between the three of us we feel we can be successful.

I retire from my regular job in 3 years but don’t want to just sit on my butt. I plan to build this business to keep me busy and provide a nice income after I retire. We have registered the business name of WebScape Developers. Look for a site under that name when we get the chance to do it!
